Since she was 12, she has been interested in being a personal trainer. Now as a coach at CF615, she is captivated, challenged, and inspired by the CrossFit approach to attitude, movement technique, and training. In addition to coaching, she is the 615 "Fun Boss", and is a big part of our CrossFit 615 family. She is always working to become a better coach and loves to cheer on members and her fellow athletes to reach their goals in fitness and nutrition. If you have any questions she'll answer them with a smile, and welcome you into our box with open arms. Coach Madi

Coach Madi

Madi Sewell

Madi attributes purchasing her first pair of tennis shoes to CrossFit. She was introduced to the sport in 2009 as a freshman in college, yes it took her that long to own tennis shoes, as it was the required dry land routine for her D2 collegiate swim team.  Weightlifting is drastically different than floating on water, but as a lifelong athlete, she picked it up quickly. When her swimming career ended with college, CrossFit became a prime outlet for her competitive nature and it continues to push her in ways she never thought possible. While CrossFit has shown her the many physical benefits it offers, the community is what holds her heart. The people in this sport prove that day in and day out, no matter your skill set, no matter the work out, there is nothing that can’t be achieved together. Madi loves adding new faces to the CrossFit 615 family and will strive to help them achieve whatever their goals may be.

nutrition Coach Sydney

nutrition Coach Sydney

Sydney Trentham

Sydney is a recent graduate from the University of Tennessee where she studied Nutrition and worked as a Sports Nutrition Student Intern in the athletic department. Sydney grew up playing a variety of sports and dabbling in anything and everything sports and fitness. She even had a stint as a novice on the Lady Vols Varsity Rowing team until faced with injury and decided to turn in the towel and become a NARP (non-athletic regular person). Going into her senior year, she got bored with her daily fitness routine and NARP status, so she took the leap and joined a CrossFit box. Throughout her career as an athlete, she was always striving to make herself better and became passionate about nutrition. She uses her knowledge to fuel her own performance whether it be a CrossFit competition, an obstacle course race, a simple WOD, a bicycle ride across the country (completed summer of 2016), or just a hike through the woods and enjoys using her nutrition knowledge to do the same for other athletes.

Sydney has her Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Science with a Major in Nutrition.

She is currently a Master's candidate at Lipscomb University where she studies Exercise and Nutrition Science.

Coach Sam

Coach Sam

Samantha Seldon

Samantha found her athleticism as a freshman at the University of Louisville when she tried out for the Novice Rowing team and surprised herself by making it. Rowing practice quickly became the highlight of her day, so she set her sights on making Varsity.  She surprised herself again by earning a spot in a varsity boat by the end of her freshman year. By the time she was a senior she competed in the top boat and was a captain on the team. Samantha attributed her vast improvement as a rower to the work she did in the weight room and saw a direct correlation between how much she could lift and how fast she could row, thus beginning a lifelong love affair with weightlifting.

Since college she’s run a marathon, has biked across the country, competed in Olympic Weightlifting, practiced CrossFit on and off since 2011, and (finally) got her CrossFit Level 1 in 2017.  She earned a B.A. in English from the University of Louisville in 2010 and a Master's of Effective Teaching from the Sposato Graduate School of Education in 2014.

When she’s not up in the gym just working on her fitness, you can probably find her trying to teach the latest batch of youths to love reading or snuggling with her too-cute-for-words pit/greyhound mix, Ali.

This is when she fell in love with physical therapy. After dabbling in personal training while getting her bachelors degree, she pursued her doctorate in physical therapy. It was in physical therapy school that she started running half marathons. After getting a tad burnt out with running and working with patients who were avid CrossFitters, she decided to give CrossFit a try back in 2011.
